"CLOUDS" IN BOOK OF JOB

Elihu Speaks
Job 35:5  Look at the heavens, and see; and behold the clouds, which are higher than you.

Job 36:27-29  For he draws up the drops of water; they distill his mist in rain,  (28)  which the skies pour down and drop on mankind abundantly.  (29)  Can anyone understand the spreading of the clouds, the thunderings of his pavilion?

Job 37:11-16  He loads the thick cloud with moisture; the clouds scatter his lightning.  (12)  They turn around and around by his guidance, to accomplish all that he commands them on the face of the habitable world.  (13)  Whether for correction or for his land or for love, he causes it to happen.  (14)  "Hear this, O Job; stop and consider the wondrous works of God.  (15)  Do you know how God lays his command upon them and causes the lightning of his cloud to shine?  (16)  Do you know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him who is perfect in knowledge . . .

Job 37:21  "And now no one looks on the light when it is bright in the skies (lit. “clouds”), when the wind has passed and cleared them.

The LORD Speaks
Job 38:8-9  "Or who shut in the sea with doors when it burst out from the womb,  (9)  when I made clouds its garment and thick darkness its swaddling band . . .

Job 38:37  Who can number the clouds by wisdom? Or who can tilt the waterskins of the heavens . . .

Clouds & Christ’s Coming
Mat 24:30  Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

Rev 1:7  Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of him. Even so. Amen.

1 Thess. 4:16-18  For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.  (17)  Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.  (18)  Therefore encourage one another with these words.

Job’s Example of Steadfast Endurance
“Behold, we consider those blessed who remained steadfast. You have heard of the steadfastness of Job, and you have seen the purpose of the Lord, how the Lord is compassionate and merciful.”  (James 5:11)
